Jimmy Oliver

This veteran of a 1000 psychic wars began playing at 8 years old on a old acoustic found in his father’s closet. The usual progression of influences ensued with Kiss moving to Foreigner moving to Led Zeppelin and so on. After many stints in local bands, Jimmy found measurable success in a funk-rock band “Monkeyshine”. This band won the 2001 MAMA Awards for best Power Punk and Rock group and received local radio play for their original music.

He has written scores for short films and anthems for local sports teams and sells his work to music supervisors in the film industry.
His influences are mainly Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai as well as groups like The Police, Rush and Stone Temple Pilots. He is a “lifer” and will not stop buying or playing guitars.
